The Tapo RV30 Plus from networking giant TP Link is a fantastic two-in-one. It's compact, quiet and has an elegant, easy-to-use look. In our test rooms, it cleaned the floors thoroughly and precisely - it did particularly well on rugs but it took multiple runs to fully remove soiled areas from wood. Its LIDAR navigation system performs well, avoiding crashing into furniture or crossing power cords.
It's a bit slow on the stairs however, that's to be expected in a compact robot that's designed to overcome obstacles. Its only downside is its mopping pad attachment, which was a challenge to hold in the right position during our tests. It also lacks the ability of dealing with dust that has dried on and dust, which makes it more like a vacuum than a robot mop.
It's still a great choice for those who prefer a hands-off experience and want to clean low pile or unfinished carpets equally. It has a decent amount of suction, which helped it remove fine dust from carpets and pet hair. Automatic recognition of carpets is a wonderful feature as it increases the power of vacuuming to better tackle embedded dirt. It is easy to use and the charging dock automatically empty the dustbin when it is full. This is an excellent feature for apartment dwellers.
